5 Logos That Helped Redefine Their Product

5 Logos That Helped Redefine Their Product

By: Paul Serra

A logo says a lot. It’s the face of a company’s brand, so it’s hardly surprising that a poor logo can do a lot of damage. Certain companies have designed logos that have become excellent representations of their products, though, and the effects have been enormous. Here are a few companies whose iconic logos completely redefined their products.

1. Snapchat

Snapchat is rapidly becoming one of the most popular social media platforms, and for good reason. It’s a refreshing take on social media, and it’s simplicity is a powerful asset. In terms of branding power, though, the little Snapchat ghost is absolutely crucial to their success. It’s becoming increasingly ubiquitous, becoming a sort of mascot for the platform. It’s fun and it’s a great representation of the app.

2. Lyft

The Lyft logo is a clear choice, as it’s the image that immediately comes into mind when the service is mentioned. The “glowstache” is immediately recognizable, and it’s the driving force behind their overall brand. While not as flashy as the initial giant pink moustache, it’s a better representation of Lyft as a whole, and the results are powerful.

3. Airbnb

Airbnb is gaining an incredible amount of traction, which is hardly surprising - it’s an excellent service that makes life a heck of a lot easier. Their initial logo wasn’t stellar, though. However, the redesign? It has completely changed the face of the company. It’s such a simple logo, but it’s becoming the image with which users associate Airbnb, which is the most crucial step to take when establishing a brand as a powerhouse.

4. Spotify

The massively popular music streaming service has earned their spot at the top of the game thank to their outstanding service and functionality, but their logo is where the magic lies. Its simplicity does not come at the cost of relevance and recognition, which has done wonders for establishing them as a powerhouse in the music industry. It’s a brilliant example of how engrained a logo can become and the effects it can have on an entire industry.

5. iTunes

For quite some time, the iTunes logo remained unchanged, and for good reason. It was a clean, recognizable logo, and people liked it. However, recently, it has been modernized, which makes perfect sense. It’s a great representation of how iTunes is growing to offer more and more services like Apple Music and the like. It’s a relatively bold change, but one that needed to happen, and iTunes does nothing but benefit from it.
