In October of 2014, they recently earned a $1.5 million venture, after previously receiving a $300 thousand convertible note.

ZipLine Medical is a company who has developed a unique, non-invasive skin closure solution. Their solution produces suture-like outcomes at the speed of staples, yet is easy to use and decreases the risk of surgical site infection and needle stick injury. Most recently, they received $5.7 million Series C funding in October; collectively they have received $16 million in 4 Rounds of funding from 4 investors.
3. TesoRx 0
TesoRx is a specialty pharmaceutical company that is focused on developing formulation platforms that address unmet needs in markets with significant commercial upsides. They are able to bring products to the market that do not fit the traditional mold of pharmaceutical companies because their team is highly dedicated. TesoRx recently received $10 million in Series B-1 funding from existing and new private investors, secured a key patent, and hired a renowned urologist as Chief Medical Officer. They plan to use the funding to complete clinical testing and then to bring the treatment to the market.

Enlitic makes medical diagnostics faster, more accurate, and more accessible by using the most recent advances in machine learning. This startup is dedicated to processing all kinds of health data from CT scans to x-rays and other imaging technology. Last week, they announced that they had raised $2 million in seed funding. We can’t wait to see how they grow!
5. Sequenta, Inc. 0
Sequenta, Inc. develops new approaches for understanding immune system status. Their proprietary LymphoSIGHT platform profiles immune repertoire and provides scalable next-generation sequencing-based laboratory processes. This allows the several million B and T cells in a sample to be characterized and quantified. While they have received $41.5 million in 4 Rounds from 5 investors, they most recently landed a venture deal that is worth an undisclosed amount.
6. Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc. 0
Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company that is focused on discovering and developing novel protein therapeutics. In fact, they have developed a library of more than 5700 human extracellular proteins, which they believe represent substantially all of the body’s medically important targets for protein therapeutics. In order to expand, Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc. will receive $2 million in research funding. Currently, they have received $0.5 million.
7. Pharmaceutic Litho &Label Company 0
Pharmaceutic Litho &Label Company focuses on the pharmaceutical print industry in order to provide printing services for medical devices. They are making it easier to get vital information to and from customers, and are dedicated to achieving consistency in all of their print processes. As a recently funded company, funders can look forward to providing a unique market niche to the printing industry.

On October 28, 2014, Vida received $5 million in Series A funding from 9 investors. We can’t wait to see how they put it to use!

Regulus Therapeutics Inc. is a company who is focused on the discovery and development of microRNA therapeutics. Formed in 2007, Regulus Therapeutics Inc. reaps the benefits from collective therapeutic RNA expertise of their founding companies, which includes access to proprietary technologies and a broad base of intellectual property estates. Yesterday, Regulus Therapeutics Inc. closed their public offering of $103.5 million of common stock and is expected to have a net proceed of $76.1 million.

HMicro is a wireless solutions company that develops integrated products for medical, industrial, and the broad Internet of Things. Their innovative products are engineered to address unique requirements of wireless items. Recently, they secured $5.5 million in Series B funding. This equity investment will support their continuing development and commercialization of their innovative product, REACH Wireless Technology.
